This is a cake my Grandmother would make .
My Dad requested it on his birthday every year, tho we had it more often than 1x a year.

  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 2 c
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 large
  • 1 large
    can of fruit cocktail w/juice
  • 1 stick
    butter, cold
  • 3/4 c
  • 1/2 can(s)
    evaperated canned milk
  • 3 tsp
  • 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar

How to Make Fruit Cocktail Cake


  1. combine-
    1 1/2 cups sugar - 1/2 tsp salt -2 tsp soda -
    2 cups of flour
  2. add -
    2 eggs - 1 large can of fruitcocktal w/juice -
  3. Mix and pour into greased 8x12 cake pan. Sprinkle brown sugar over cake.
    Cook in preheated 350degree oven for 45 minutes
  4. in a sauce pan add--- butter-sugar-evaperated milk.

    Cook until thick.
  5. frost cake when cool.
