This is so worth the time and a fun thing to do and pass on to friends. I got this recipe 20 years ago with a cup of batter. You keep it going for months or years. The 10 day process adds a flavor that is really delicious. But if you don't have batter you will need to make some to start the process...then you will always have batter after that.
2TO MAKE BATTER TO START: 1 cup each flour, sugar, and milk, mix by hand, DO NOT REGREGERATE, lightly cover with foil, stirring once each day for 5 days, THEN START WITH DAY 1 = recieving batter USING ONLY 1 CUP....FREEZE OTHER 2 CUPS SEPARATELY FOR FUTURE USE. When you get to day 10 you can freeze three 1 cup batters and use in future or give to a friend with recipe.
