Ingredients

  • 1 c
    vegetable oil
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 3
    eggs
  • 3 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped pecans
  • 3 c
    peeled and chopped apples

How to Make Fresh Apple Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease a 9x 13 inch pan.
  3. Combine oil, sugar, and eggs.
  4. Stir in flour and baking soda.
  5. Add vanilla, pecans, and apples.
  6. Spread in prepared pan and bake for 45-50 minutes.
  7. Cool for 2 hours.
  8. Then prepare frosting.
  9. FROSTING:

    1/2 cup butter
    1 cup brown sugar, packed
    1/4 cup evaporated milk
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  10. Boil all ingredients in a small saucepan for 2 minutes.
  11. Set pan in bowl filled with ice water.
  12. Beat icing until of spreading consistency.
  13. Spread over top of cake.
