This is a wonderful breakfast for about 8 people. I can make everything the night before and in the morning pop it in the oven. You can add nuts or fruit if you want to make it a little different.

How to Make French Toast And Syrup

Step-by-Step

  1. MAKE THIS 1 DAY BEFORE YOU NEED IT

Butter the bottom and sides of your baking dish
Place bread laying down into casserole dish 1 layer at a time. **Make it 2 or three layers deep with bread. When you are pouring the egg mixture over the bread, evenly pour it over every piece. The bread will soak up the egg mixture while it sets over night.
  2. In bowl mix together eggs, cream, 1/2 & 1/2, vanilla, cinnamon and salt..
    **Pour over bread evenly
Use plastic wrap to cover top of dish, press down on top of bread. Chill in fridge over night.
  3. GLAZE TO BE ADDED ON TOP OF FRENCH TOAST RIGHT BEFORE YOU BAKE

    warm butter until melted
    Add remaining ingredients
    warm until sugar melted
Pour evenly over top of bread before you make

OPTIONAL: you can add any type of nuts to this dish , I add it to the glaze..
