This is a wonderful breakfast for about 8 people. I can make everything the night before and in the morning pop it in the oven. You can add nuts or fruit if you want to make it a little different.

Ingredients

  • 12 slices texas toast in bread isle (not frozen)
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2/3 cup 1/2 & 1/2
  • 4 teaspoons mexican vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, ground
  • - pinch of salt
  • GLAZE FOR SYRUP
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons mexican vanilla extract

How To Make french toast and syrup

  • Step 1
    MAKE THIS 1 DAY BEFORE YOU NEED IT Butter the bottom and sides of your baking dish Place bread laying down into casserole dish 1 layer at a time. **Make it 2 or three layers deep with bread. When you are pouring the egg mixture over the bread, evenly pour it over every piece. The bread will soak up the egg mixture while it sets over night.
  • Step 2
    In bowl mix together eggs, cream, 1/2 & 1/2, vanilla, cinnamon and salt.. **Pour over bread evenly Use plastic wrap to cover top of dish, press down on top of bread. Chill in fridge over night.
  • Step 3
    GLAZE TO BE ADDED ON TOP OF FRENCH TOAST RIGHT BEFORE YOU BAKE warm butter until melted Add remaining ingredients warm until sugar melted Pour evenly over top of bread before you make OPTIONAL: you can add any type of nuts to this dish , I add it to the glaze..
