Ingredients

  • 4 large
    eggs
  • 1 c
    butter, softened
  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c
    unsifted flour
  • 1/4 c
    unsweetened cocoa
  • ·
    dash salt
  • 1 c
    chopped nuts ( walnuts or pecans )
  • 1 jar(s)
    ( 7 oz. ) marshmallow cream
  • ·
    mud cake frosting
  • 1/3 c
    butter
  • 1/2 c
    unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/3 c
    milk
  • 2 1/2 tsp
    vanilla
  • 2 1/2 c
    powdered sugar

How to Make Fireman Bob's Mud Cake my way.....

Step-by-Step

  1. In large bowl, beat eggs, margarine, sugar, vanilla until light and fluffy.
    Add flour, cocoa, and salt.
    Beat until well blended. Fold in nuts. Spread batter into a 9 x 13 pan which has been greased.
    Bake 40 to 45 minutes at 350*.
  2. Immediately after removing from oven, place dollops of marshmallow cream on cake, spread until smooth. Let cool 1 hour before frosting.
  3. Mud Cake Frosting:

    1/3 cup margarine
    1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
    1/3 cup milk
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    21/2 cups powdered sugar
  4. In saucepan melt margarine, stir in cocoa and cook 1 minute.
    Remove from heat.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    Stir till smooth. Spread on top of marshmallow cream. When frosting has cooled, cut into 1 inch squares.
