This is my friend Lavette's recipe. One year on our way home from visiting, she sent us home with this cake....my son and I ate it over the next 24 hours that it took for us to drive and we fought over who got the last piece! The recipe calls for 5 eggs, and it is needed because of the weight of the figs.

Ingredients
- 5 - eggs
- 1 pint preserved figs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup dark brown syrup (karo or molasses)
- 7-8 cups flour, unsifted
- 1 cup crisco (oil will not work)
How To Make fig cake

Step 1Preheat oven 350. Grease and flour 9x13 pan.

Step 2Combine ingredients and pour into prepared pan. Bake until done. Do not pick test for doneness, after cake has browned-- pat center to tell.
