This is my friend Lavette's recipe. One year on our way home from visiting, she sent us home with this son and I ate it over the next 24 hours that it took for us to drive and we fought over who got the last piece!

The recipe calls for 5 eggs, and it is needed because of the weight of the figs.

crisco (oil will not work)

How to Make Fig Cake


  • 1Preheat oven 350. Grease and flour 9x13 pan.
  • 2Combine ingredients and pour into prepared pan. Bake until done. Do not pick test for doneness, after cake has browned-- pat center to tell.
