A fun cake and very good.
Nuts and coconut represent rocks
Chocolate cake is dirt.
Butter mixture that cooks through the cake represents lava from an earthquake.

Ingredients

1 c
flaked coconut
1-8 oz
cream cheese, softened
1 c
chopped pecans
1 box
german chocolate cake mix
1 lb
box powdered sugar
1/2 c
softened butter

How to Make Earthquake Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Spread flaked coconut on the bottom of a greased 9 x 13"baking dish. Spread chopped pecans over coconut.
  • 2Mix german chocolate cake mix according to package directions. Pour on top of coconut and nuts.
  • 3Mix together 1/2 cup softened butter , softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until fluffy. Drop dallops by spoon onto cake mix. Do not stir.
  • 4Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean between dallops.
