crowd-pleasing praline cake
This recipe was given to me many years ago by a friend and co-worker. It will really "wow" your family and guests.

Ingredients
- 1 cup regular rolled oats
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- FROSTING
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup flaked coconut
- 1 cup pecans, chopped
How To Make crowd-pleasing praline cake

Step 1Combine the rolled oats and water; place to the side.

Step 2Cream the white and brown sugar, oil and eggs and mix well. Next add the oat mixture, flour, baking soda and cinnamon. Combine all, but don't overmix.

Step 3Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish and add cake mixture - bake for approx. 35 min. at 350 degrees.

Step 4Combine butter, milk and brown sugar in a saucepan. Boil mixture for 1 minute and add coconut and pecans. While cake is still hot, spread icing over cake and then place under the broiler until the icing bubbles. WATCH IT CAREFULLY!

Step 5Allow cake to sit overnight to allow the cake to firm up.
