I learned to make this cake with my Grandmother years ago. Its a very moist and delicious cake. Can be made up in layers and frosted w your favorite icing.

Ingredients

3 c
all purpose flour
3 c
sugar
5 large
eggs
2 stick
butter, unsalted
1/2 c
crisco
8 oz
cream cheese, room temperature
1 tsp
vanilla extract and/or lemon extract
1 tsp
baking powder
1 pinch
salt

How to Make CREAM CHEESE POUND CAKE

Step-by-Step

  • 1*ALL INGREDIENTS SHOULD BE ROOM TEMP.

    *FLOUR SHOULD BE SIFTED

    Combine flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside
  • 2Beat butter and cream cheese together until well blended
  • 3Add sugar to butter and cream cheese mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. (color should be a pale yellow.)
  • 4Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
  • 5Add extract(s)
  • 6Add dry ingredients. Mixing just til incorporated
  • 7Pour into greased and floured pound cake pan. Bake for 1hr to 1hr and 15mins
