I learned to make this cake with my Grandmother years ago. Its a very moist and delicious cake. Can be made up in layers and frosted w your favorite icing.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 5 large eggs
  • 2 sticks butter, unsalted
  • 1/2 cup crisco
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and/or lemon extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch salt

How To Make cream cheese pound cake

  • Step 1
    *ALL INGREDIENTS SHOULD BE ROOM TEMP. *FLOUR SHOULD BE SIFTED Combine flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside
  • Step 2
    Beat butter and cream cheese together until well blended
  • Step 3
    Add sugar to butter and cream cheese mixture. Beat until light and fluffy. (color should be a pale yellow.)
  • Step 4
    Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition
  • Step 5
    Add extract(s)
  • Step 6
    Add dry ingredients. Mixing just til incorporated
  • Step 7
    Pour into greased and floured pound cake pan. Bake for 1hr to 1hr and 15mins
