This recipe has been passed among family and friends for several years. It is easy, with few ingredients, and the taste is wonderful. The recipe makes great cupcakes also. Enjoy!

1 box chocolate cake mix
4 - eggs-at room temperature
1 stick melted butter
2-3 tablespoons water
1 box powered sugar
1 large pkg of cream cheese

How To Make best darned cake ever-connie

Step 1

Mix chocolate cake mix, 1 egg, melted butter, and water to make batter. (The batter will be stiff.)

Step 2

Pat batter into a GREASED 9x13 pan.
Step 3

Mix powdered sugar, 3 eggs and cream cheese.
Step 4

Pour topping over batter.
Step 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Check cake after 25 minutes as ovens very in heat.
Step 6

Cake will pull away from sides of the pan but will be softer in the middle.
Step 7

Allow to cool 10 to 15 minutes before cutting.
