chocolate oats layer cake
For the chocolate lovers, I created a second recipe of flavored oats laker cake. This one is chocolate, filled with chocolate sauteed oats inside the cake.

Ingredients
- 3 cups rolled oats, divided
- 1 package instant chocolate pudding mix
- 2 cups chocolate milk, divided
- 1 cup milk chocolate chips, divided
- 20 - chocolate covered almonds, chopped
- 1 box triple chocolate fudge cake mix
- 1 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon margarine
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate syrup, divided
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3 tablespoons malted milk powder
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup Nutella
- 3/4 cup chocolate covered raisins
How To Make chocolate oats layer cake

Step 1In a medium jar, combine 1 cup rolled oats, the pudding mix, 1 cup chocolate milk and 1/2 cup chocolate chips; use a fork and stir well until blended. Cover and refrigerate for 4 hours.

Step 2Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Step 3Coat two 8 round cake pans with cooking spray. Add the chopped chocolate covered almonds to the bottom of the cake pans.

Step 4Whisk the cake mix, water, vegetable oil and eggs together in a large bowl for 3 minutes until combined.

Step 5Add the chocolate oat mixture into the cake batter and whisk again for 30 seconds until blended.

Step 6Pour the cake batter into the cake pans. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted the center comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes.

Step 7Heat the margarine in a large, deep skillet over medium heat. Add remaining rolled oats and saute for 5 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/2 cup chocolate syrup.

Step 8In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream, remaining chocolate milk, malted milk powder, cream cheese and remaining chocolate syrup; whisk well for 5 minutes or until smooth.

Step 9Place one layer of cake on a serving plate. Spread Nutella evenly over the cake. Add the sauteed oat mixture and chocolate covered raisins.

Step 10Place another cake on top. Spread the frosting on the top and sides of the cake. Sprinkle remaining chocolate chips evenly over the top.
