I enjoy experimenting with Gooey Butter Cakes for different occassions. When my office had a "Chocolate Decadence Day" I knew I wanted to try something really special. We have a lot of dark chocolate fans, so I went as dark as possible. It disappeared very quickly. It's now a favorite at our pot luck luncheons.

Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
- 1 - egg
- 1 stick butter, melted
- FILLING
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 - eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick butter, melted
- 1 jar hershey special dark topping
- 1 pound powdered sugar
How To Make chocolate decadence gooey butter cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray.

Step 2In a medium bowl of electric mixer, combine cake ingredients. Spread in prepared pan.

Step 3In a large bowl of electric mixer, combine filling ingredients until well incorporated. Spread over cake layer.

Step 4Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Don't over bake; the middle should be a little jiggly. Top with whipped cream, if desired.
