chocolate cream cheese frosting
This is a simple quick & easy frosting to make with any cake or cup cakes. You make it chocolate with the simple addition of melted chocolate chips or cocoa powder. Both works great. You can even use the white vanilla chips. This recipe uses the cocoa powder. I used this frosting recipe on my HEART BEETS OF LOVE CAKE. Beets is not a typo, the cake actually has beets in the batter. I made it for my husband for Valentine's Day. It is & easy, this version is a milk chocolate, if you like it darker use more cocoa. Keep some made up in the freezer for a easy topping on cakes or muffins.

Frosts a 3 layer cake top Middle & sides
Ingredients
- 2 sticks butter, softened, room temperature
- 16 ounces cream cheese,softened room temperature
- 2 pounds powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder, more for darker or deeper chocolate
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coffee flavoring
How To Make chocolate cream cheese frosting

Step 1Crush coffee granules in a small bowl.

Step 2Add about 1/2 of powdered sugar & cocoa to bowl, and stir to blend together.

Step 3Cream butter with cream cheese and add half of powdered sugar mixture.

Step 4Beat till creamy.

Step 5Add coffee flavoring and beat again.

Step 6Add remaining powdered sugar and beat till mixed and creamy.

Step 7You are now ready to frost your cake or muffins.
