Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c
    egg whites {10 to 12 eggs}
  • 1 1/2 c
    sifted powered sugar
  • 1 c
    sifted cake flour or sift all-purpose flour
  • 3 Tbsp
    cocoa, unsweetened powder
  • 1/4 tsp
    ground cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    cream of tarter
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla
  • 1 c
    granulated sugar
  • ·
    chocolate flavored syrup and whipped topping optionl

How to Make Chocolate Cinnamon Angel Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Allow eggs to stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, sift the powered sugar,flour,cocoa powder, and cinnamon together 3 times. Set aside
  2. In a large mixing bowl combine the egg whites,cream of tarter,and vanilla; beat with a electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form{tips curl}
  3. Gradually add the granulated sugar,about 2 talespoons at a time,beating on high speed until stiff peaks form.
  4. Sift about one-fourth of the dry mixture over beated egg whites, fold in gently. repeat folding in the remaining dry mixture by fourths. Pour into an ungreased 10 inch tube pan. Using a narrow metal spatula or knife, gently cut through the batter to eliminate any air bubbles.
  5. Bake on lowest rack in a 350F oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched.
  6. When done let cool completely. Loosen sides of cake from pan,remove cake. If desired, serve cake slices with chocolate flavored syrup drizzles and whipped topping.
