    Hershey's chocolate kisses, unwrapped
  • 1 box
    triple chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 3
    egg whites
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/3 c
    vegetable oil
  • 1 pkg
    chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 3/4 c
    chocolate milk
  • 3
    Hershey's bars with almonds, chopped
  • 1 c
    white chocolate chips
  • SALTED BUTTERSCOTCH FROSTING
  • 1 c
    cold heavy cream
  • 1 pkg
    instant butterscotch pudding
  • 3/4 c
    half and half
  • 4 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 c
    butterscotch ice cream topping
  • 6 tsp
    sea salt, divided

How To Make chocolate cake with salted butterscotch frosting

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    To make the cake, coat two (8-inch) round cake pans with cooking spray on the bottom and sides. Split Hershey's kisses between both cake pans (10 each).

    In a large bowl, combine cake mix, egg whites, water, vegetable oil and pudding mix. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes until well blended.

    Add chocolate milk and chopped chocolate bars. Beat again at low speed for 1 minute.

    Pour into prepared cake pans. Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted a center comes out clean. Cool completely for 10 minutes.

    To make the salted butterscotch frosting, combine the heavy cream, butterscotch pudding, half and half, cream cheese, ice cream topping, and 2 teaspoons sea salt in a medium bowl. Whisk well for 3 minutes until blended. Set aside.

    Place first cake on a plate. Spread the frosting evenly. Top with white chocolate chips and season with 2 teaspoons sea salt.

    Place second cake on top of the other cake. Spread remaining frosting on top and sides of the cake. Season with remaining sea salt.
