    crushed butterscotch candies, divided
  • 1 c
    milk chocolate chips
  • 1 box
    German chocolate cake mix
  • 1 c
    water
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 4
    eggs, beaten
  • 1 c
    Nutella
  • 10
    fun-size milky way bars, sliced
  • 1
    packet instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate syrup
  • 1 c
    butterscotch chips
  • BUTTERSCOTCH FROSTING
  • 1 tube
    frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c
    dark brown sugar
  • 1 c
    butterscotch ice cream topping

How To Make chocolate butterscotch cake

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    To make the cake, grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch baking pan. Add 1 cup crushed butterscotch candies and milk chocolate chips.

    In a large mixing bowl, add cake mix, water, oil, eggs, Nutella, sliced Milky Way bars, pudding mix and chocolate syrup. Beat at medium speed for 3 minutes until blended.

    Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan. Slowly sprinkle with butterscotch chips and press down with a wooden spoon.

    Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool completely for 8 minutes.

    For the butterscotch frosting, beat all ingredients together in a medium mixing bowl for 3 minutes until smooth.

    Spread the frosting onto the cake and sprinkle with remaining crushed butterscotch candies.
