These are rich, & decadent, & totally yummy. My Mom & I make these in alternating flavors, to see who can come up with the best one. This is a recipe that you can play with, adjusting the flavor to suit yourself. Just change the flavor of the cake mix, & the extract that you use. I like Butter & vanilla myself, but caramel, & vanilla is also good.

Ingredients
- 1 box cake mix, butter flavor
- 1 - egg
- 1 stick butter, softened
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 2 - eggs, lightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
How To Make chess squares

Step 1Mix the cake mix, 1 egg, and 1 stick of softened butter, together. Spread it on the bottom of a 9" by 13" pan

Step 2Cream the room temp cream cheese, till light & fluffy, add the 2, lightly beaten eggs, mix until everything is well mixed. Add the powdered sugar, and 1 tsp. of extract, your choice of flavor, I like pure vanilla, or butter, but it is your treat, so once you are comfortable with the recipe, then play with it. Bake at 350, for 45 minuets. NO LONGER. DON'T OVER BAKE! Let cool completely, before cutting.
