I love chocolate covered cherries and cherry coke. This cake has the flavor of both.

Ingredients

CAKE
1 package devil's food cake mix
3 - eggs
1 1/3 cups cherry coca cola
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon cherry extract*
FROSTING
1/2 cup butter, softened
3 3/4 cups confectioners' sugar
3 tablespoons ovaltine instant chocolate drink mix
1/4 cup cherry coca cola
1 jar maraschino cherries (for garnish)

How To Make cherry cola chocolate cake

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 x 13 pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, eggs, cola, oil, and extract. Beat on low speed for 60 seconds; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes. Pour batter into pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely.
Step 3

In a medium bowl combine butter, sugar, drink mix, and cola. Beat until smooth. Frost cake. Garnish each serving with a maraschino cherry. * Note: If you don't have cherry extract, just substitute 1 tablespoon of the juice from the jar of maraschino cherries.
