I received this recipe when I orderd some cake tools. Can't remember the name. I have changed a few things with the recipe. Very moist cake and taste great.

Ingredients
- 3 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 cups cake flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon baking soa
- 6 - egg whites, unbeaten
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
How To Make buttermilk cake

Step 1Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease three 9 inch round pans.

Step 2Sift the flour, baking powder and salt. Set aside.

Step 3Cream the butter. Add sugar gradually and beat with electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Step 4Stir baking soda into buttermilk.

Step 5Add dry ingredients alternately with buttermilk mixture (in fourths) to butter and sugar mixture.

Step 6Add egg whites; mix well. Add vanilla and mix.

Step 7Pour batter into the three pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until toothpick comes out nearly clean. Be careful not to over bake.

Step 8Cool in pans for 15 minutes and then turn out onto cooling racks.
