Butter Rum Cake is part of the Benitez tradition. We never miss any occasion without it. It is usually served after dinner with coffee or tea. We have an extra bottle of Rum for adults who wishes to add more and make it more scrumpttious.

Ingredients

  • LIST 1
  • 3 sticks butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 - egg yolk
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon fine salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 1/4 cup water
  • LIST 2
  • 4 - egg whites
  • 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • LIST 3
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons rum

How To Make butter rum cake

  • Step 1
    Beat in a bowl all List 1 ingredients.
  • Step 2
    In a separate bowl beat List 2 ingredients.
  • Step 3
    Fold together and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 mins.
  • Step 4
    Put together List 3 ingredients in a sauce pan and heat on a stove. Do not boil.
  • Step 5
    Pour sauce on the cake. Ready to serve.
