butter pecan sour cream cake
This recipe was passed down from my Mom. She is not a fan of "boxed" cake mixes but always made this with what she called "doctoring it up" for my siblings and I. It has become a favorite of my childrens as well.

Ingredients
- 1 box duncan hines butter pecan cake mix
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup water
- 3 large eggs
- SWIRL FILLING
- 1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 cup pecan pieces (optional)

Step 1Pre-Heat oven to 350. Spray bundt pan with cooking spray To prepare Cake: Mix boxed cake mix, water, eggs, sour cream, vanilla, cinnamon and melted butter with mixer on low speed for 1 minute then on hi speed for 2 minutes.Pour into prepared bundt pan

Step 2For Swirl Filling: Mix brown sugar with flour, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add melted butter and pecans, stir well. spread evenly over cake batter.

Step 3With a butter knife, swirl filling down into cake. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until cake springs back when lightly touched. Allow to cool in pan for 10 minutes before removing to serving dish.
