If you love German chocolate cake, I finally created this cake recipe for the people in England called British chocolate cake. It's filled with British chocolate bars inside the cake and in the frosting. I used cream cheese, macadamia nuts, and English toffee.

  • 4
    Heath bars, chopped
  • 1 box
    devil's food cake mix
  • 1 box
    instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 3
    egg whites
  • 1 1/4 c
    fat free milk
  • 1 c
    peanut oil
  • 1/2 c
    chocolate syrup
  • 3
    milk chocolate bars, chopped
  • 3
    Fruit and Nut chocolate bars, chopped
  • 2
    Nestle Crunch bars, chopped
  • 1 c
    butterscotch ice cream topping
  • NUTTY CREAM CHEESE TOFFEE FROSTING
  • 1 tube
    frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 8 oz
    cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 c
    chopped macadamia nuts
  • 1 c
    Heath English toffee bits

How To Make british chocolate cake

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    To make the cake, coat 2 9-inch round cake pans with cooking spray.S prinkle with chopped Heath bars.

    In a large bowl, beat the cake mix, pudding mix, egg whites, fat free milk, peanut oil and chocolate syrup with an electric mixer on low speed for 1 minute.

    Beat on medium speed 2 minutes. Fold in chopped chocolate bars. Pour batter into the prepared cake pans.

    Bake 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Transfer the cakes from the pan to a cooling rack; cool completely. Wrap cake layers and refrigerate at least 1 hour.

    To make the nutty cream cheese toffee frosting, combine all ingredients in a medium bowl and whisk together until well blended; set aside.

    Place the first cake layer, top side up, on a serving plate. Spread with half of the frosting mixture. Sprinkle with chopped Nestle Crunch bars.

    Place a second cake layer, top side up, on the chopped chocolate bars. Spread remaining frosting mixture on the top and sides of the cake. Cover and refrigerate until serving time. Drizzle with butterscotch ice cream topping.
