This recipe is what my mother used to make our birthday cakes growing up.

Ingredients

1 3/4 cups sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 3/4 cups flour
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups milk

How To Make bonnie butter cake

Step 1

Beat sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla until fluffy.

Step 2

Mix in remaining ingredients.
Step 3

Pour into greased cake pan. (13x9" if not using decorative pan)
Step 4

Bake at 350 degrees about 30 minutes.
