Ingredients
- CAKE
- 1 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup strong black coffee
- 5 - blood oranges
- 1/3 cup triple sec
- 2 sticks butter
- 1 cup each brown sugar and white sugar
- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- SYRUP
- 2 - blood oranges
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- GANACHE
- 1 bag dark chocolate chips
- 1 cup heavy cream
How To Make blood orange bundt cake

Step 1For the cake Preheat oven 325 degrees Spray a bundt pan well and dust with a little cocoa powder.

Step 2Squeeze the oranges to get 1 cup juice. Heat the coffee, orange juice, triple sec, vanilla and butter together. Cook until butter is melted. Whisk in the cocoa powder and mix well about 1 minute. Stir in both sugars. Let cool

Step 3whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl. In a separate bowl whisk the eggs and add a small amount of chocolate mixture to temper the eggs then add to the rest of the chocolate mixture.

Step 4Mix the chocolate mixture into the flour mixture. Pour into the prepared pan. Bake in oven for about 40 to 50 minutes. Let it cool.

Step 5To make the syrup. Slice the two oranges thinly. Place the orange slice in a pan with the water. Simmer 20 minutes. Remove oranges slices and discard. Add the sugar and let it cool.

Step 6Loosen the cake from the pan with a sharp knife. Tip it upside down and release the cake from the pan. Pour the warm syrup slowly over the bottom of the cake letting it soak into the cake. Turn over and place on a serving plate.

Step 7To make the ganache Heat the chocolate chips with the heavy cream in a microwave and zap 30 seconds at a time stirring until all chocolate is melted and cream is mixed in well. Pour over the cake.
