I have had this recipe since the early sixty's It was my ex mother in laws recipe. A personal note from her. When I bake this cake I drained a quart of berries and used all the berries. I like more than the recipe calls for. Your choice

- 4 large eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup crisco shortening
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 1/4 cups sour milk
- 2 teaspoons soda
- 1 teaspoon cloves
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups blackberries
How To Make blackberry cake

Step 1Mix dry dry ingredients set a side. cream shortening and sugar together, add beaten eggs, Add milk and berries alternately with dry ingredients. I bake this in bunt cake pan

Step 2Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes or till a toothpick comes out clean when inserted in center of cake. May frost with caramel Icing or eat plain
