This is a molasses cake that is called black bread because of the color. From my favorite aunt, Myrtle Nelson. Also a favorite of my other half.

Ingredients For black bread

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1 1/2 c
    cooking oil
  • 3 lg
    eggs
  • 2 c
    molasses
  • 1 c
    milk
  • 4 c
    self rising flour

How To Make black bread

  • 1
    Mix first 5 ingredients; add flour. Bake in a 9x13-inch pan at 325 degrees for about an hour or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
