Ingredients For bisquick cranberry-nut coffee cake

  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 2 c
    bisquick
  • 1/4 c
    granulated sugar
  • lg
    egg
  • 2/3 c
    evaporated milk
  • 2/3 c
    whole cranberry sauce
  • ICING:
  • 1 c
    powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp
    vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp
    evaporated milk
  • 1 tsp
    karo corn syrup
  • 1 dash
    salt
  • 1 tsp
    butter,softened

How To Make bisquick cranberry-nut coffee cake

    Cake: heat oven to 400^. Mix brown sugar, walnuts and cinnamon ;set aside. Combine baking mix, sugar, egg,and milk; beat vigorously 1/2 minute.

    Spread batter in a greased square or round 9-inch baking pan; sprinkle with nut mixture. Spoon cranberry sauce over top. Bake 20-25 minutes. While warm, spread with icing.

    Icing: Combine ingredients and beat until smooth, Spread on warm cake.

    For a change-up: Banana Coffeecake: 2 c. Bisquick 1/4 c. brown sugar, packed 3 T. butter,softened 1 lg. egg 1/4 c. sour milk (3T.milk+ 1 T. lemon juice) 3/4 c. mashed ripe banana 1/2 c. chopped nuts --- Combine all ingredients; beat vigorously 1/2 minute. Spread batter in greased 9-inch square or round baking pan. Bake 20-25 minutes.While warm frost with above icing and sprinkle 1/4 c. finely chopped nuts on top.
