How to Make Banana Poke Cake
- Prepare the cake mix as directed on box (I used applesauce instead of the vegetable oil. The box called for a 1/3 cup, I used 1/3 cup of applesauce.) Bake in a 9x13 pan as directed on the box.
- Let cake cool for a few minutes and then poke holes in the cake with the handle of a wooden spoon. Let cake cool completely before continuing.
- Whisk both boxes of pudding mix with 4 cups of milk. Pour over top of cooled cake. Try to push the pudding into the holes that you made with the wooden spoon. Spread whipped topping over pudding.
- Crush the 20 vanilla wafers and sprinkle over cake. Slice bananas and put on top of cake. Refrigerate until serving time & keep leftovers refrigerated.
