Ingredients

  • 3 large
    tart apples, such as granny smith
  • 1 c
    maple syrup, divided
  • 1 large
    egg, beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp
    lemon juice
  • 1/2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • 1 pinch
    salt
  • 1/2 c
    raisins
  • ·
    unsweetened whipped cream, optional

How to Make Apple Maple Pudding

Step-by-Step

  1. Preheat oven to 375F. Grease or spray an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. Peel and core apples. Cut into even chunks.
  3. Arrange apples in the prepared baking pan. Pour 1/2 cup of the maple syrup over apples, stirring to coat well, and spread in an even layer.
  4. In a bowl, combine beaten egg, butter and lemon juice with remaining 1/2 cup maple syrup.
  5. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Fold in raisins.
  6. Pour batter evenly over apple pieces.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is lightly browned.
  8. Serve warm with unsweetened whipped cream, if desired.
