Ingredients
- 3 large tart apples, such as granny smith
- 1 cup maple syrup, divided
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup raisins
- - unsweetened whipped cream, optional
How To Make apple maple pudding

Step 1Preheat oven to 375F. Grease or spray an 8-inch square baking dish.

Step 2Peel and core apples. Cut into even chunks.

Step 3Arrange apples in the prepared baking pan. Pour 1/2 cup of the maple syrup over apples, stirring to coat well, and spread in an even layer.

Step 4In a bowl, combine beaten egg, butter and lemon juice with remaining 1/2 cup maple syrup.

Step 5In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Fold in raisins.

Step 6Pour batter evenly over apple pieces.

Step 7Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is lightly browned.

Step 8Serve warm with unsweetened whipped cream, if desired.
