My cousins and I love this for our birthdays. Grandma used to make it for every one of our birthdays and the holidays. We use to love having vanila ice cream with it.

Ingredients

  • 2 c
    sugar
  • 1/2 c
    vegetable oil
  • 2
    eggs
  • 4 c
    diced apples (gravenstein or red delicious are best.)
  • 2 tsp
    baking soda
  • 2 c
    flour
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 2 tsp
    cinnamon
  • 1 tsp
    nutmeg
  • ·
    raisins, golden (optional)
  • ·
    chopped walnuts or chopped pecans(optional)

How to Make Apple Hill Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine sugar, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Mix well
  2. Add apples. Mix well.
  3. Sift remaining ingredients. (add raisins and nuts to dry ingredients if desired)
  4. Combine and mix well
  5. Pour into a 9x12 pan(greased) or a muffin/cupcake pan with liners works and bake one hour at 350 degrees.
