My cousins and I love this for our birthdays. Grandma used to make it for every one of our birthdays and the holidays. We use to love having vanila ice cream with it.

Ingredients

2 c
sugar
1/2 c
vegetable oil
2
eggs
4 c
diced apples (gravenstein or red delicious are best.)
2 tsp
baking soda
2 c
flour
1 tsp
salt
2 tsp
cinnamon
1 tsp
nutmeg
raisins, golden (optional)
chopped walnuts or chopped pecans(optional)

How to Make Apple Hill Cake

Step-by-Step

  • 1Combine sugar, oil and eggs in a large bowl. Mix well
  • 2Add apples. Mix well.
  • 3Sift remaining ingredients. (add raisins and nuts to dry ingredients if desired)
  • 4Combine and mix well
  • 5Pour into a 9x12 pan(greased) or a muffin/cupcake pan with liners works and bake one hour at 350 degrees.
