apple cake with cream cheese frosting

I decided one day to make a simple white cake then I thought well why don't I throw some apples in it and I am really glad that I did because this is a hit with my husband who doesn't really like sweets and my dad who is a really picky eater. You can also use fresh peaches instead of apples if you would rather!

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 2 - eggs
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 2 or 3 - apples chopped
- 1/4 stick butter
- 1/2 cup cinnamon sugar mixture
How To Make apple cake with cream cheese frosting

Step 1Preheat oven to 350F

Step 2Start off by melting the butter in a medium sized sauce pan, while the butter is melting cut the apples leaving the skin on (you can peel them if you like) add the chopped apples to the butter, then add the cinnamon sugar mix to the apples let cook about 5 minutes stirring regularly take off heat and let cool a bit.

Step 3Mix together the shortening, milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla, then mix salt, flour, and baking powder in another bowl

Step 4Add dry ingredients to wet mixture mix until smooth the add the apples and mix a little longer.

Step 5Pour cake batter into greased baking pan and cook for 25 to 30 minutes on 350F
