almond pound (bundt) cake
This is a great pound cake. Stands on it's own, and doesn't need a glaze or dusting of powdered sugar. We like it as is!

Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups butter, softened
- 2 3/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons pure almond extract
- 5 large eggs
- 3 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
How To Make almond pound (bundt) cake
-
Step 1Prepare a 12 cup bundt pan. Mix 1 tablespoon of melted butter, with 1 tablespoon of flour. Spread mixture evenly in the bundt pan using a pastry brush. Set aside. (Your cake will release with ease.) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
-
Step 2On low setting, beat butter, sugar, almond extract, and eggs in a large bowl for 30 seconds. Scraping the the sides of the bowl constantly. Then beat on high for 5 minutes.
-
Step 3In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder and salt together. On low speed, beat flour mixture into sugar mixture, alternately with milk.
-
Step 4Spread into the prepared bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees, for 1 hour 10 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean when tested. I start checking at 1 hour for doneness.
-
Step 5Cool for 20 minutes in the pan. Remove from pan and place top side up on a wire rack to cool completely.
