This is a quick and easy recipe that is always a hit and it calls for common ingredients that most cupboards already contain. I got the recipe from a Lunds & Byerlys cookbook that was published several years ago. I serve it plain or it is especially good with whipped cream. I hope you like it.

Ingredients
- CREAM TOGETHER:
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter - softened
- 4 - eggs -- (i always use large or jumbo eggs)
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- BEAT IN:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- SPREAD IN 9 X 13 PREPARED PAN (BATTER IS SUPPOSED TO BE THICK) THEN, IN A SMALL BOWL COMBINE:
- 1/2 cup sliced or slivered almonds
- 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

Step 1Before baking, sprinkle with almond and sugar mix.

Step 2Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until done by wooden pick tester.
