7-Up Pound Cake
1/2 cvegetable shortening
3 call-purpose flour
1 can(s)7-up or sprite at room temperature
1 tsplemon extract
How to Make 7-Up Pound Cake
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, shortening, and sugar until very light and fluffy and sugar is nearly dissolved. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
- Add the flour and the 7-Up/Sprite alternately, beating well after each addition. Beat in the lemon extract. Pour into a greased and floured 10" Bundt pan.
- Bake for 1 and 1/2 hours or till cake is done. Let stand in pan 10-15 minutes; turn onto wire rack to cool completely.
