There is something about a cake with pop in it that is a surprisingly good cake. Add the frosting, and you will make this often!

Ingredients For 7 up cake

  • 3 c
    sifted cake flour
  • 2 stick
    margarine
  • 1/2 c
    crisco
  • 3 c
    sugar
  • 5
    eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    lemon extract
  • 7 oz
    can 7up or sprite

How To Make 7 up cake

    All ingredients must be at room temp.
  • 2
    Cream margarine and Crisco, then add sugar. Add eggs alternately with flour. Add lemon extract and 7up. Pour into well greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hour and 15 min. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR WHILE BAKING. Frost with a mixture of 1 lb powdered sugar, 8 oz cream cheese, 1 stick butter, and 1 t vanilla, creamed well. cake will be hard when cooled, but soften when iced.
