1Combine water and wheat berries a saucepan. Cover, bring to boil, lower heat to simmer on lowest setting. Cook until grains are soft. About 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Watch carefully. You might have to add water and stir to prevent scorching the grain.
Whole wheat berries stay chewier than rice. You can substitute them for almost any recipe that requires rice.
