toasted fried egg patty melt
This simple Patty Melt Sandwich was one that my father made for himself, only on occasion ( because he hardly ever cooked!) for breakfast on a weekend. Although not unique in its ingredients, it holds some tasty memories for me whenever I make this flavorful Classic!

Ingredients
- 2 slices wheat bread
- 1 medium egg
- 1 large hamburg patty (raw)
- 1 slice cheddar or american cheese
- 1 tablespoon diced onion
- 1 teaspoon ketchup
- 1 teaspoon olive oil, extra virgin
How To Make toasted fried egg patty melt

Step 1Fry the onion in the olive oil in a small fry pan. Set aside.

Step 2Next Fry the Hamburg Patty in the same pan for 3-4 minutes per side. (Do not press down on patty when cooking!)

Step 3Add the cheese with one minute remaining when cooking second side of Patty.

Step 4Toast the bread in toaster and be sure to butter the bread slices.Then place Patty melt on 1 piece of toast.

Step 5Add the cooked diced onion on top of Patty.

Step 6Fry the egg in same pan breaking the yolk, and frying on both sides.

Step 7Place Fried Egg on top of onions.

Step 8Add the ketchup on top of egg, then top with remaining slice of toast.

Step 9Cut in half wedges then place in microwave oven for 15- 20 seconds to maintain warmness.
