I stumbled into this by shear accident one day and WHAMMO! a new favorite in the family. It is a savory variation on an old favorite. A great way to start your morning or for an anytime treat.

Ingredients
- 2/3 cup oatmeal, uncooked
- 2/3 cup water
- - orange, lemon or lime juice
- - salt and black pepper to taste
- - any other savory seasoning of your choice
How To Make savory oatmeal

Step 1Place oatmeal and water in a microwave safe bowl and cook on High for 2 minutes. Oatmeal will come out stiff in consistency.

Step 2Remove from microwave and add the citrus juice of your choice. (Lime is my favorite for a fresh pop of flavor). Mix juice in well and add the seasoning mixing again.

Step 3Serve warm and enjoy. For a sweeter variation add fresh fruit.
