sausage and tomato gravy
Daddy's Sausage & Tomato Gravy was the best and this comes about as close as I remember. I have been making it for over 45 years for my own family and they all love it, too. Quick and easy breakfast to "stick to your ribs" especially in cold weather! Equally great as a quick dinner if you use canned biscuits and include a fresh salad.

- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- to taste salt and pepper
How To Make sausage and tomato gravy
-
Step 1Peel and dice tomatoes, saving all the juices. Set aside.
-
Step 2Crumble sausage in large skillet and brown until done. You can drain the extra grease if you want. Add the flour, continue stirring and cook 2 minutes over medium heat.
-
Step 3Add diced tomatoes and the juices, broth and milk. Stir to combine and bring to a gentle boil. Cook until it thickens.
-
Step 4Add salt and pepper as desired. If too thick for your liking, add a small amount of broth or milk and stir thoroughly.
-
Step 5Serve over hot split biscuits.
