This jelly is excellent over cream cheese! It is a very nice gift during the holidays as you can add a touch of red food coloring to make it festive looking. Since I am getting into canning and making jams and jellies, I wanted to post this recipe.

prep time 10 Min
cook time
method No-Cook or Other
yield 8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup jalapeno peppers (this is about four)
  • 3/4 cup green pepper (about two, chopped or ground)
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 5 cups sugar
  • 6 ounces liquid pectin
  • dash green food coloring

How To Make pepper jelly - steph

  • Step 1
Chop the peppers in a food chopper. Combine the first four ingredients and bring to a boil for four minutes. Remove from heat and let cool one minute. Add pectin and food coloring (green is the typical one to use but red is good for the holidays). Strain or just skim the top. Makes 5 - 6 jelly glasses. Seal with parafin.
  • Step 2
If you prefer hotter jelly, add more jalapeno to it. I have had this over cream cheese and it is delightful!!! It is also a nice gift for co-workers or neighbors, etc. during the holidays.
