My mother taught me how to make pancakes when I was very young and I in turn taught my sons. My youngest son learned at the age of 3 how to measure the ingredients and the same recipe is still the one I use today.

Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 - egg
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla (optional)
- TOPPINGS
- - fresh strawberries, confectioners sugar and whipped cream
- - peanut butter and granulated sugar
- - blueberries and confectioners sugar
- - maple syrup and butter
How To Make pancakes

Step 1In a bowl with a pitcher spout combine flour,salt and baking powder and stir with a fork Add sugar, milk and eggs and stir with a wooden spoon till smooth Add oil and any optional ingredients Heat grill till water dropped on sizzles Pour batter on hot grill and wait till bubbles appear and pop, then flip Cook till golden brown Serve with choice of toppings
