Ingredients

  • 1/2 c
    butter
  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar
  • 1 c
    sugar
  • 2
    eggs
  • 1 c
    sour cream
  • 2 c
    all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp
    baking soda
  • 1 tsp
    baking powder
  • FILLING

  • 1/4 c
    brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 c
    walnuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp
    cinnamon

How to Make Old Fashioned Coffee Cake

Step-by-Step

  1. Cream butter and sugars then add eggs and sour cream
  2. Combine 2 cups flour, 1 tsp baking soda and 1 tsp baking powder then add to batter and mix well
  3. Grease and flour bunt pan. Spread half batter into pan and cover with one half the filling filling. Spoon the. remainder of the batter over the filling then sprinkle the remainder of the filling on top Bake 45 minutes in pre heated 350 oven
  4. OPTION: use all of the filling in the middle of the cake then drizzle with icing when cake has cooled.
