You can substitute any chopped dried fruit for the raisans. And any nut for the walnuts. I've tried all variations.

  • 4 c
    oats(not quick cooking)
  • 1 1/2 c
    chopped walnuts
  • 4 tsp
  • 1 tsp
  • 1 tsp
    ground clove
  • 1 tsp
    ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp
  • 1 1/2 c
  • 1/4 c
    canola oil
  • 1/2 c
  • 1 tsp
    pure vanilla extract
  • 3/4 c
    light brown surgar-packed

How to Make Homemade Raisan Walnut Granola Cereal


  1. Mix all dry ingredients together in a big bowl except raisans. Set aside.
  2. Heat oil, honey and vanilla, just until starts bubbling. When it comes to a boil pour honey over the oat mixture and stir until well blended.
  3. Put a sheet of foil over 2 cookies with sides on them. Split half in each pan and spread out in a layer.
  4. Bake in 300 degrees for 40 minutes. Stirring every 10 minutes. When finished take out of oven and let cool completely in the pan.
  5. When cooled completely, add raisans and mix.
  6. Put mixture in a sealed container. Serve with milk. also great in yogurt and on ice cream.
