Whether you like it for a snack or to sprinkle on your favorite fruit or top off yogurt or ice cream...this is for you. Low fat too!

Ingredients

  • 8 cups old fashioned oats
  • 6 cups nuts : 2 cups each of sliced almonds, pecans and walnuts chopped
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 4 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup water

How To Make good for you "granola"

  • Step 1
    Mix oats, nuts, seeds in a large bowl Microwave for 5 minutes, sugar & water in a small bowl. remove from microwave, add vanilla and salt. Pour over nuts and oats; toss and mix well to coat.
  • Step 2
    layer flat on a large cookie sheet with sides. I love the large pampered chef bar stone.. Bake 275 oven for 1 hour. Should be light brown and look crispy.
  • Step 3
    Cool on a rack for 30 minutes. Break apart and store in airtight containers.
