My DIL cannot stop eating these. They are very tasty and pretty good for you, too.

prep time 15 Min
cook time 15 Min
method Stove Top
yield 12-24 depending on size you cut

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup chunky peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup butter
  • 16 ounces package mini marshmallows***
  • 2-1/2 cup honey nut cheerios
  • 1-1/2 cup raisin bran
  • 1/2 cup mixed dried fruit, chopped
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

How To Make energy bar by sallye

  • Step 1
*If you use smooth peanut butter, add ½ cup chopped peanuts **You may substitute Rice Krispies for raisin bran (if so, add ½ cup raisins) ***You may use my recipe for Sugar Free Marshmallow Cream if you want to cut down on sugar.https://www.justapinch.com/recipes/dessert/other-dessert/sugar-free-marshmallow-cream.html
  • Step 2
In a double boiler, melt peanut butter, butter and marshmallows until well blended stirring frequently to avoid sticking Be patient, this seems to take forever
  • Step 3
Place all other ingredients in a large bowl and mix together
  • Step 4
When peanut butter mixture is smooth (it will be sticky), pour over other ingredients and quickly mix well
  • Step 5
Pour into greased serving dish 9x13 and cut into squares Allow to cool so they will set up. I'm sure these will last a week or more (although they never seem to last over a couple of days around here).
