Ingredients

  • 1 box french vanilla cake mix
  • 5 1/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 packages active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup cinnamon & sugar mix
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 3/4 cup pecans, in pieces
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

How To Make easy overnight cinnamon rolls

  • Step 1
Stir together the cake mix, yeast, flour, salt, and warm water.
  • Step 2
Let rise in a warm place (free from drafts) about an hour.
  • Step 3
Turn dough out onto a well-floured surface; divide in half.
  • Step 4
Roll one portion into an 18 x 12 inch rectangle. Brush with half of the melted butter and sprinkle with half the cinnamon/sugar mix, then half the pecans. Roll up starting at the long end; cut crosswise into 16 (1 inch) slices. Place rolls into a buttered 9 x 13 inch pan.
  • Step 5
    Repeat with the remaining dough.
  • Step 6
Cover and chill for 8 hours, or overnight. Remove from the refrigerator, and let stand for 30 minutes.
  • Step 7
Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Cool slightly.
  • Step 8
Stir together powdered sugar, milk, vanilla, and lemon juice. Drizzle over warm rolls and sprinkle with remaining pecans.
