creamy charleston cheesy curry grits

I love grits! One day I was experimenting for something different and came up with this recipe. Now it's almost hard to go back to just plain grits:) I love this so much! Warning this is not for the lifelong dieter! It is decadent,rich, and God only knows how many calories and fat there are! Which is why I only indulge once in a blue moon, but it is sooo worth it! It also lends itself well to other flavor combinations. I've used green chilies and chipotle seasoning with excellent results.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups rinsed stone ground grits
  • 1 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon curry
  • 1/2 teaspoon tumeric
  • 2 - large spoonfulls of pub sharp chedder cheese (or sharp chedder of your choice)

How To Make creamy charleston cheesy curry grits

  • Step 1
    Combine the rinsed grits with the boiling water. Simmer 20-30 minutes. While adding the remaining ingredients. Stir often it is easy to burn if your not careful!
  • Step 2
    Chills and stores well. Easy to nuke.
