Growing up, coffee cake was something that was served often, and there are many varieties that we had in the family. This one was Mom's.

Ingredients

  • 1 - yellow cake mix
  • 1 package instant vanilla pudding
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 - eggs
  • 1 teaspoon butter flavoring
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons warm milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 teaspoon butter flavoring

How To Make coffee cake, mom's

  • Step 1
    Mix cake, pudding, oil, water, eggs, 1 teapsoon butter flavoring for 8 minutes. Mix together nuts, sugar and cinnamon, alternate cake mix with topping, beginning with topping and ending with cake mix. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes. Looks real brown. For glaze, mix remaining ingredients and drizzle over cake. Freezes well before glazing.
