betty's egg free french toast
This tastes like the real deal! Great for those with an egg allergy/intolerance (which we have in our home and why this recipe was created), if you've run out of eggs or need a vegan breakfast option. Day old bread is a must, do NOT use fresh bread.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons corn flour/ corn starch
- 1 cup milk - dairy, soy, almond, rice all work
- 4 thick slices of day old bread
- 2 teaspoons butter (or dairy free option), for frying
- maple syrup to serve
How To Make betty's egg free french toast

Step 1In a large flat bowl, such as a pasta plate combine the flour and milk and mix well.

Step 2Heat the butter in a frying pan (mine's non stick) over a medium heat.

Step 3Dip each slice of bread into the wet mix, being sure to stir it again first as the flour sinks.

Step 4Fry the sodden bread on each side for 60 - 90 seconds. Plate up and serve with maple syrup.
